.
23 miles done today. Today started clear and good within 2 hrs it started snowing, complete white out- vis down to 2 meters. The snow was super sticky it was a real effort to plough through, we had to lift our feet to ski rather than glide, quite an effort, the sledges also became weighed down.
The snow then turned to a sleeting rain which made it even worse but we made 23 miles so 89 miles left to get off the icecap.
We are now in our tent -we have built a snow wall, we are wet, clothes are wet, inside of tent is wet, sleeping bags are wet – everything is wet. For us tomorrow is significant as it means we only have an estimated 4 days left on the ice, after tonight only 3 nights so we can start getting our hopes up that there is light at the end of the tunel. We are tired and sore but spirits are high.
Tonight its Thai chicken with added butter!
